Leon Štukelj International School Maribor
Leon Štukelj International School Maribor opened its doors in September 2023 with just six students. Two years later, in September 2025, our community has grown to around 30 students — and continues to expand.
We are part of Primary School Leon Štukelj, which celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2023. As the first primary international school in the southeast region of Slovenia, we warmly welcome students from all around the world to join our diverse and caring community.
Living in a rapidly evolving world and a complex society requires a unique set of skills. At Leon Štukelj International School Maribor, we believe it is our responsibility to empower students for the future.
Our mission is to provide inquiry-based education where the inquisitive minds of our students gain values, embrace diversity, and cultivate the spirit of international-mindedness. We aim to create a holistic and inclusive environment that fosters trust among students, parents, and teachers — helping our learners grow with integrity, transparency, and a genuine desire to contribute positively to the world around them.
At Leon Štukelj International School, we aim to build bridges between schools and cultures, helping our students develop the skills and mindset for lifelong learning.
We proudly offer the accredited PYP (Primary Years Programme) and are in the process of becoming an accredited MYP (Middle Years Programme) school.
Surrounded by a welcoming atmosphere and well-designed classrooms, our students have the space and support they need to explore, learn, and thrive.
